What If…

The whole college and career planning process is not easy for kids. Making sense of your student’s next steps (College? Vocational school? Workforce? Something else?) can be confusing and stressful. But WHAT IF the process didn’t have to be so difficult?

What if…

  • We could redefine “college readiness” – to develop an awareness of whether college is even the best option?
Let’s look at all the options… career choice is not a “one size fits all” thing. Students need assistance to discover their skills & abilities and match that to future career opportunities. Sometimes their options include college and sometimes they don’t! And there’s nothing wrong with going straight into the workforce – if that’s the right option for your child. We’d argue that college readiness isn’t just a matter of academics, but should be measured by “self awareness.”

What if…

  • We could redefine “career readiness” – by acknowledging the need for strong communication & people skills, as well as worth ethic and drive?
Career readiness isn’t just meeting math, science, English, and history requirements. In today’s competitive market, college applicants and job applicants must strengthen their communication skills

What if…

  • We could help schools, teachers, parents, and students before major college & career decisions are made – before regret sets in?
Statistics show that 80% of college students change their major at least once, with some changing their major 3 times! And some students finish their 4-year degree but end up going back for a second degree later on, because they had no idea what they truly wanted to do, as an 18-year-old high school grad. Implementing the right tools into the high school college & career process could prepare students for their post-grad choices.

What if…

  • We could help parents and students discover more… earlier? We could get to and equip students sooner? We could help facilitate conversations to develop awareness, decisions for jobs, decisions for a lifetime?
When students are equipped with the tools to discover who they are and to develop their soft skills, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and confidence, they can make an informed decision about their future career. As parents, it’s hard to know where to start in this conversation… it’s difficult to grasp all of the college and career options, and how to recognize the best fit for your student. Starting the conversation as early as possible gives more time but also the space to uncover the best path for your student.

What if…

  • We could save you thousands in student debt, from changing majors and transferring schools?
The cost of college is at an all-time high – with the average cost of one year of in-state tuition being $25,000. What’s more, some students head to college even though it’s not the right fit, and end up wasting time and money on a degree they never finish OR have to change schools halfway through, increasing their years in school and tuition payments made. That 4-year degree often turns into a 6+ year degree! Developing emotional intelligence – self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, and relationship management – can help students determine their path earlier, saving you time and money!
